More Marijuana News in Latin America

This is an unprecedented time of change in the world concerning the legal status of marijuana. Most political jurisdictions in the world have this drug outlawed, but there are two which have recently legalized it right here in our country. This has caused a lot of commotion around the world, and rightfully so. The United States was once at the front of the campaign against legal marijuana, and two of these states have recently legalized the drug. Mexico and Legal Marijuana Lawmakers in the country of Mexico have recently filed a proposal for marijuana legalization. This makes Mexico the second Latin American country to attempt to legalize cannabis, with the first being Uruguay. While neither of these bills are expected to pass by those educated on the subject, it is amazing that the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington has inspired people world wide to make a change. This idea is mostly due to the fact that Mexico has long expressed their discontent at US drug policies. The recent legalization in the United States did not help this position at all. While Mexico decriminalized small amounts of certain drugs in the year 2009, most people still believe that this will not lead to legal marijuana in Mexico.
