NJ Man wins case for Weed!

Ed Forchion is an alleged marijuana dealer in the state of New Jersey. Or at least he was until very recently! A jury unanimously voted to drop the charges brought against Mr. Forchion. This man was recently found guilty of possession, but a new jury was needed to decide whether or not this Weedman intended to sell the weed. Needless to say, Forchion is ecstatic about the outcome. Ed Forchion’s Marijuana Charges When a jury was originally deciding this man’s fate, they all found him guilty of marijuana possession. However, they were deadlocked as to whether or not he intended to sell the weed. Forchion had over a pound of weed in his car but he claimed that he only had it for medical purposes. Apparently, he made a convincing argument because the jury dropped the intent to sell charges. The Weedman also tried to pull some kind of jury nullification defense, but this was quickly ousted by the presiding judge. After a rocky trial, most of the important worked out for him. Forchion has been cleared of all charges related to marijuana distribution. This at least is something for this tired man to rejoice about. The Outcome Just because we don’t like the way someone lives, is no excuse to tell them how to live their life. The Weedman might like to smoke a lot of weed, as...

VoteMedicalMarijuana.org is now live!

With Medical Marijuana being one of the driving factors in deciding on elected officials, Votemedicalmarijuana.org has compiled a list to make it easy for you to see who is on your side and who is against you. Each member of congress is given a grade of either pass or fail that shows how they have voted for medical marijuana in the past. This new website launched by Americans for Safe Access has made it very clear which members of congress are in favor of medical marijuana. Statements from the ASA Steph Sherer said it best here as he talks about the role of elected officials in medical marijauana programs and how that can affect the lives of many people. “Given that our elected officials decide whether and how to develop medical marijuana policy that affects millions of patients in the U.S., it’s important for them to have the tools necessary to make decisions that will impact their future,” said Steph Sherer, Executive Director of American for Safe Access. “The choices made by patients and their supporters at the ballot box should take into consideration the candidates’ record on medical marijuana.” Congress’ Role in MMJ It’s congress that decides the fate of medical marijuana patients in more ways than one. Patients can not even currently claim a medical necessity defense in a federal trial. This wonderful website from ASA also shows...

Arrests in Colorado for Weed!

Many people are concerned with the state of drugs in our country. But this concern is actually contrary to what some folks might think. The war on drugs was initially just a scare tactic thought up by the government. This campaign of fear isn’t going to work anymore as the people of the world are growing more intelligent. We don’t want to be controlled by these silly laws that inhibit what we can put into our bodies. You might be surprised to hear that the great portion of America thinks the war on drugs is failing. Colorado Marijuana Users It’s no secret in the smoking community that Colorado is a major state for marijuana consumption. Where marijuana is consumed, people are inevitably jailed up. This rule applies more to the past than it does now, but the injustices involving marijuana continue with raids on dispensaries. From the years 1986 to 2010 in Colorado, there have been 210,000 arrests of people with only small amounts of marijuana. It’s disgusting when one thinks of how much money went into this whole program that we all know is a lie. Going one step beyond this in cruelty, the police officers of Colorado have very racist tendencies when arresting people for pot. White marijuana users are far more common than black and latino users in this state. But cops arrest latinos twice as...
