How Can We End Marijuana Prohibition?

Marijuana Prohibition has been the sad truth in this country for many years. While cannabis is one of the most widely used recreational drugs world wide, we still fail to see the financial benefits it could have on our country. After all, trillions of dollars of debt aren’t going to resolve themselves. We need a new source of income if we want to get rid of this country’s financial problems any time soon. America Is Losing Its War on Drugs

Much different than similar poll results earlier this year, recent results show that the overwhelming majority of the United States is opposed to the war on drugs. When you look at the facts, it is easy to see why this is so. We are spending billions of dollars every year on something that isn’t even succeeding. The overwhelming majority of arrests are for small amounts of marijuana while the sneakier drug dealers are shipping cocaine into the country. While I understand where the government is coming from, I think it’s time that we give up on this phony war and start spending money on things that matter. One stat shows that the US has spent between 20 and 25 billion dollars each year on this war for the past ten years. This is so much wasted money that it makes me sick. If the government insists on finding drug users out, they...

Cops Take Finder’s Fees From Raids

Many people wonder whether or not cops get to keep what they seize from marijuana raids. The answer in some cases is yes. The federal government can bypass state proceedings and take whatever they want. This is then given to the law enforcement agencies for cooperating as a finder’s fee. Even though it’s corrupt and awful, this is the way marijuana raids are conducted these days. Why It’s Wrong There are so many things wrong with the way cops get to keep what they find in marijuana raids. The very drug they are going there to bust ends up in their...
